How quoting works at Ecologic
Every quote is free, written, and built from measurements, yours or ours. The document shows the R-value math for each assembly, the Efficiency Manitoba rebate estimate, and the re-entry time for your job. If your project qualifies for a rebate, the pre-approval application is filed before the job is booked, because rebates without pre-approval do not exist. To start, call 204-509-FOAM or email kbowie@mts.net. You talk to Keith, the person responsible for your job.

01 The sequence
Five steps. The same order every time.
No auto-responder. A phone call, an email or the form below starts it, and everything that matters ends up on paper.
1 · Call or email
Tell us what the building is, what part of it you want insulated, and roughly where you are. Five minutes on the phone usually settles whether a site visit is needed or photos will do.
2 · Site visit, or photos and measurements
For most Winnipeg jobs we come measure. For simple areas, or anything far from the city, clear photos plus your own measurements are often enough. Either way, the quote is built from real numbers, not a guess over the phone.
3 · Written quote
Areas, thicknesses, target R-values, the rebate estimate and the re-entry time: on the document, before you commit. If we think part of the job is better done with a different material, the quote says so.
4 · Rebate pre-approval
If your job qualifies for Efficiency Manitoba's program, the application goes in first. Work that starts before pre-approval forfeits the rebate, so we hold the booking until the paperwork is in.
5 · Booking
Once the quote is accepted and any pre-approval is in place, the job goes on the schedule. You get a date, and the crew that shows up has read the same document you have.
02 Before you call
Have this ready. It makes the quote faster and tighter.
None of it is mandatory. We can work most of it out with you on the phone. But the more of this you have, the faster the written number arrives:
The areas, in square feet, if you know them. Length times height for walls; length times width for floors and ceilings. Rough is fine.
What's there now. Bare concrete, old batts and poly, wood-chip fill, nothing at all. The existing condition changes the prep and sometimes the price.
Your heat source. Electric, gas or geothermal. It changes which Efficiency Manitoba streams your job is eligible for, so we ask early.
Photos, if you have them. Email them to kbowie@mts.net. A few clear shots of each area answer most of our questions before we ask them.
Your timeline. A furnace replacement, a renovation schedule, a cottage closing date — anything the job has to fit around.

03 Timing
A word about seasons
Winter installs are possible. Spray foam has substrate temperature requirements, but interior work (basements, rim joists, attics from inside) goes on all year, and January is often the easiest time to get on the schedule.
Season and access do affect price. Heated hose runs, tenting and substrate heating for cold-weather exterior work, and long drives to remote sites all show up in the number, and the quote says where. If waiting two months makes your job meaningfully cheaper, we will tell you that instead of booking it.
One firm piece of advice: book agricultural and cottage work before freeze-up. Quonsets, shops, barns and lake places quote and install far more easily in September than in December, and the fall schedule fills first.
04 Questions
Quoting, answered
Is the quote really free?
Yes. Free whether it comes from a site visit or from photos and measurements, and no obligation attached. We quote plenty of jobs we don't win, and a free quote is just the cost of doing this honestly.
How fast will I get it?
Most written quotes go out within a few business days of the visit or of receiving your photos and measurements. Peak season can stretch that. We tell you the expected timing when you call, rather than leave you guessing.
Do you quote from photos?
Often, yes. For rim joists, open basement walls and garages, clear photos plus your measurements are usually enough. Send them to kbowie@mts.net. If we can't see what we need to see, we ask to visit before putting a number in writing.
Do prices change after the quote?
Only if the scope changes: more area, more thickness, or a condition the visit or photos didn't show, like old insulation that has to come out first. Any change is priced in writing before additional work happens. The quoted price for the quoted scope holds.
